Panchayat-Level Inauguration

As part of the state-level “Operation Thoofan 2.0” initiative aimed at strengthening public resistance against drug abuse, various programmes were organized in Vazhayur Grama Panchayat.

As part of the programme held at the Panchayat Office, activities such as hoisting the Thoofan flag, taking the Thoofan pledge, conducting an awareness class, delivering anti-drug messages, and wearing badges were organized. The programme was conducted with the objective of preventing the spread and use of drugs, protecting the younger generation from drug abuse, and strengthening collective community intervention.

The Panchayat-level programme was inaugurated by Grama Panchayat President Smt. Ameenakumari Teacher. The Vice President, Standing Committee Chairpersons, Grama Panchayat members, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and staff members participated in the programme. The elected representatives also wore badges as “Thoofan Warriors” and took part in the anti-drug campaign.

The programme emphasized that the fight against drugs should not be confined to legal action alone, but should extend to homes, educational institutions, and every section of society. An awareness session was also conducted on the harmful effects of drug abuse, the threats faced by the younger generation, and the responsibility of the general public in preventing drug use.

With the message “One Land, One Mind Against Drugs,” the participants took a pledge to strengthen anti-drug activities through active public participation.
